Be the Light Part 3

Welcome to Sudeeyam. Su means good Deeya is the lamp and process together is called Sudeeyam. Light your good Lamp to remove the ignorance. Knowledge gives Moksha. Be the Light. All rituals are plays to enjoyment - satisfaction and sublimation happen where ego gets vanished. Everything happens in the present moment and faith retains the winning level. Light removes the darkness and always the flame is always upwards. So consistently the dispeller of darkness ( Ignorance) and brings Light with upward movement of flame- shows your growth is always up.  It's so simple burn your wick and the Light will do the rest. What are you waiting for?

Let's begin with the Festival of Light Thiru Karthigai Deepam. This year its 29th November 2020 Royal Full Moon of abundance. Karthigai Deepam is a light festival celebrated during the Full Moon evening in the Tamil month of Karthigai (mid-Nov to mid-Dec) when the Moon is in the star Krittika or Kirthigai. Astronomically, this star is known as Alcyone, and it is the brightest star in the Pleiades constellation. This festival is celebrated in South India, Srilanka.

Significance of Karthigai Deepam

Karthigai Deepam is an ancient festival, which is celebrated for Lord Shiva and his son Muruga. The lighting of lamps forms an integral ritual of this festival. The lighting of lamps also has a spiritual significance on this day.  Therefore, the lighting of the lamps represents the victory of good over evil. On Karthigai Deepam, people light lamps in their houses to usher in prosperity and auspiciousness in their lives and ward off negativities and evil forces. They clear their Karmic debts or ignorance of dark vanishes in the luminous Light.

Mythology 1:-  The most ancient mythology associated with this festival is when Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu once started quarreling with each other over their individual supremacy in terms of power and strength. Distressed by their arguments, Lord Shiva emerged in front of them as a flame of fire. Lord Brahma and Vishnu decided to compete with each other to find the start and end of this flame. For this Brahma took the form of a swan and Vishnu took the form of a boar. Finally, when none of them won, Lord Shiva emerged back into form and thus emphasized the infiniteness and ultimate existence of God that is beyond all measurements. It is believed that Lord Shiva later appeared as a massive fire hill called as Arunachala. To commemorate this mythological event, a holy fire is lit in a huge lamp, every year, on Karthigai Deepam.

Mythology 2:-  Agni carried the six sparks that emanated from the third eye of Lord Shiva and deposited them in the river, Sara Vana. Each spark was transformed into a baby on a lotus. These babies were nurtured by six celestial nymphs or Krittikas. On the auspicious day of Karthikai Deepam, Goddess Parvathi comes to merge all six babies into a single child, Murugan with six faces. The six Krittikas were blessed with immortality to be living stars. It is to welcome them into the house that we decorate our houses with lamps during Karthigai Deepam. An illuminated lamp is considered as a favorable symbol in most cultures around the world.

Mythology 3:- In KERALA, this festival is known as Thrikarthika. On this day after sunset, all the houses, streets and temples are well lit with traditional oil lamps, made out of clay called Chirad. This is done to welcome Goddess Parvathy as she is believed to be born on this day. Devi is welcomed by the Lighting Deepam(Lamp). Lot more stories go on.

This festival of Light clearly gives us the essence of being light.

So now we are coming to the end of Part 3 Be the Light. As mentioned in the part 2 we will talk about the lance. Dedicated to true seekers and with blessings of all Light Masters. According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Parvati presented the Vel to her son Murugan as an embodiment of her shakti or power in order to vanquish the evil asura Soorapadman. Yes in each of us there is evil or Karmas and in order to vanquish Amma gives us the Vel or Lance of Light to banish our Asura. To get the Vel be Muruga. The alternative interpretation of Vel is that it is a symbol of wisdom/knowledge. It symbolically shows that wisdom/knowledge should be sharp as in the Vel's tip, broad as in the vel's breadth, and run deep as in the height. Only such wisdom can destroy the darkness of ignorance.

Muruga’s spiritual warrior energy is believed to conquer internal enemies that create debt, disease, doubt, fear, ignorance, and enemies. His weapon is the Vel, which is a type of lance.Muruga and his Vel are known for dissolving the most deep-rooted karma. The vel is also known as light. Light won over the dark force. The vel has a lot of significance in the transition from the physical into life beyond, or in other words, attaining a ‘light body’. Light is only your true nature rest is maya. I wish a day will come where all will realize Light. And this will be Prakasha Yugam where all are Light.

Thanks don't misunderstand these are my words. They have been passed to me from all Light Masters and Devi. And final words to conclude from Mohanji's Chronicles.

Lord Muruga, son of Lord Shiva and Devi Parvati is the Lord of the Pleiades and he is deeply connected to the earthly plane.  He lived on our planet at one time, as is shown by the several temples of worship dedicated to him in Southern India. Lord Muruga is believed to have incarnated again, taking the form of Mahavatar Babaji as a disciple in the ashram of the great Siddha Bhoganathar, belonging to the ancient tradition of Nava Nath Sadhus (ascetics) who trace their tradition to Lord Shiva (Adhi Nath).  The Siddha Kriya Yoga tradition was taught by Bhogar Maharshi and was then carried further by his disciple, Kriya Babaji also known as Mahavatar Babaji.  It is believed that it is Lord Muruga’s will to reveal himself as the friend of the universe to help humanity evolve from the gross consciousness to that of subtle consciousness, which is pure light.

Sudeeyam - Light your Life.
Your true nature is that of light. Light is the energy that can travel faster. E=mc2 everyone in life has learned about it or had come across this. Einstein has mastered the relation due to his higher dimension of mind. So understanding light is evolving from the lower dimension to the higher. The lack of light is a lack of knowledge. A golden age has begun and showing the traits what kind of knowledge will prevail. The existing domain has to be replaced with the newer information which will light up the darkness. The first light comes with Faith. Your faith removes the darkness around you. And as you light up your awareness the surroundings also light up. The individuals also get the impact of your light, ultimately the whole world. Many masters coming to share their knowledge and enlighten our souls. Welcome to Sudeeyam. Let's explore the possibilities to light up.

I am blessed with Light. Thank you, Light Masters, 30Nov2020 4:43 am.

Be the Light Part 2

There is light within us and when we start to explore this seed, begins the luminous path to the source. No darkness or void can consume it. To seek this light has been now my purpose in life. And also teach or reveal the easiest way to be the Light. A journey began from forms to formless. All the previous knowledge from lives has been a companion to this point and hereafter I have to shed mine for metamorphism. How long I have been praying take me to the Light. Now realized I have to be the light.

As promised last blog ended by saying will talk about Shri Ramana Maharshi. Let's take the effort to embed the jewels of knowledge in this small blog with all Masters who have defied time and space being Light.  Have we ever enquired Who am I ? Self enquiry, Naan Yaar. Well we had a process in AOL Who am I. And later when we explore we find this at places deep-rooted to extract the essence of ours. That's what Shri Ramana Maharshi took this Self-enquiry to and widely known for this.

Shri Ramana Maharishi.

Sri Ramana Maharishi was born in 1879, 5 years after the vanishing of Shri Vallalar ( Ramalinga Adigal). In his 17th year he attained enlightment through a remarkable experience as if undergoing death of the physical body while remaining in full consciousness. Following this transformation, he left his home and was drawn irresistibly to the hill of Arunachala, Thiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu.

He became the light of Thiruvannamalai attracting locals and foreigners. They experienced so many miracles which Sri Ramana declined as his boon but related them to the faith of devotees. Thiruvannamalai is the kovil where Shri Arunagirinathar was illuminated by Lord Muruga who gave him the Thirupugaz in the 15th Century. Lord Muruga being light has lived in  of Sri Ramanah Maharishi,

He knew only three languages,Tamil, Sanskrit and Malayalam, although he understood all languages by the Grace of Lord Muruga.Sri Ramana Maharishi left a few literary works such as Upadesa Saram ,Ekatmapanchakam which are all related to the simple Truth "know thyself"Knowing thyself -- will lead people to discover that Lord Muruga dwells in each human being.

It is to be noted that Sri Ramana Maharishi suffered a lot of physical ills to show the effect of Karma in one's life. He could absorb the bad Karmas of his devotees.Sri Ramana Maharishi defined Moksha--liberation ,as getting rid of non-existent and attaining the bliss which is always there. I am that--I am God The Self is God. Lord Murugan exists in the Self, as KUGAN.

When the time came for Sri Ramana Maharishi to depart from this world ,he called his devotees to close his small grass hut and He vanished and became Light just like Shri Vallalar Ramalinga  Adigalar. People visiting Thiruvannamalai see a small lamp always brightening on the kovil premises It is the Light of Arunachala Shiva, the Light of Sri Ramana Maharishi, the Light of Lord Muruga. The closest devotees always feel the presence of Sri RamanaMaharishi around them as if Lord Muruga lives eternally at this place of Arunachala. Know thyself and become a part of Lord Muruga.

Shri Mata Amruthanandamai Devi

There lot of saints who are devotees of Muruga Perumal and have invoked him and his powers visible throughout. For Keralites Sudamani is known name and revered as Matha Amritananda Mai. I have hughed Amma at Vallikavu when I was studying at Thiruvananthapuram. It was like I knew her for ages and that was an undefinable moment.

Her looks and warmth are enough to cleanse the aura of persons and give them a new life .She prays and creates changes by the names of Shiva, Krishna, Muruga, Shakti. She is always in the service of God serving the needy. I need not mention what she has done schools to universities, houses to hospitals. She draws people to gether by her soul-stirring bhajans and satsangs on the sameline as Saint Adigalar. Her Ashrams in many states of India and outside world , do provide free meals to the poor on daily basis.

The grace of Muruga has lot of tales to tell if its the sea rising during Tsunami whether its Thrichendur or Amritapuri sea God  Varuna has to listen to Lord Muruga the Light. It was observed that Varuna  made a promise to Lord Muruga, soon after his victory over Surapadman at Thiruchendur that he, Varuna, would no more touch the feet of Lord Muruga as he was party with Surapadman for hiding the latter in the sea to spare him from the Vel of the Lord. Vel Muruga VELAYUDA. ( The one who caries lance - the light).

He is the God of Kaliyuga - KALIYUGA VARADA. The only name which works in Kaliyugam. As the Muruga Yugam started we are all guided to gain the knowledge of Light. You will see the glimpse of this Light networked throughout the world expanding to the universe and beyond Galaxies. Who knows who will encounter galactic travelers and their space ships. Let's serve this humanity with love and care. Religion has no name. Manava Seva is Madhava Seva - Muruga Seva. Aum Saravanabhava to start with you will see Lance of Light. We all are Light.

 To be continued...................

The Lance, Vel was given by Devi to Muruga.

Aum Saravanabhava the most sacred mantra which can heal anything if chanted with faith i.e, Light within You.

Be the Light -Part 1

I have been writing about Muruga only since Navarathri and still continuing to write. As Agasthya mantra got during a yaga was leading me to the source of light. I didn't know anything until I received this mantra, only had knowledge that Agasthya had written Naadi jyothisham. And my Naadi reading was almost correct where even my wife's horoscope is mentioned. My real name was also there in that Naadi which is hard to get with any permutation and combination.

My journey begins with Agasthya mantra which has taken me to Devi worship and Sree Lalitha Sahsra Nama. I cannot forget two names Sheefechi and Amma Uma Shiva Kumar who really created a shift. And also my Sreevidya Guru Shri Ravi V of manblunder. Thanks to Pradeep Chandiramani, Shree Sreedharan Namboodhiri ( Tapovan Meditation & Research center), Shree Rejith (Lion Mayura Royal Kingdom), Shree Jayesh M,  Shree Bipin Damodaran, Shree Shyam Deep Moorkoth. And My Wife and Kids to give their time for my prayers.

The intention of this blog starts when I met Shree Savio a Srilankan Astrologer through Shree Vinay Kumar who taught me Heartfulness meditation. He said Sudee you should meet this person, I have not met an astrologer who is so accurate. I also thought to give a try cause after a long time I have not met any astrologers, it was time after heavy investment in Event Management Company. Events I was completely off track and only left was my IT company no worries, I believe in come back. The impact of ventures had left a lot of marks and was finding it hard to cure with my existing knowledge and grace. Though my graceful friends, mentors, parents, and my better half prayed and supported which was beyond the limit. I was lacking something, which I couldn't bring things back to normal. But now their prayers are working wonders. And I have the least intention to take this knowledge to the graveyard.  Welcome to Light.

asato mā sadgamaya

tamasomā jyotir gamaya

mrityormāamritam gamaya

Auṁ śhānti śhānti śhāntiḥ

From ignorance, lead me to truth; From darkness, lead me to light; From death, lead me to immortality. Om peace, peace, peace

So Vinyan chettan gave me Savio's number. I contacted him, unfortunately, he was in Sri Lanka and will be in Dubai after 4 months. He asked me to send my palm image and birth details. His way of analysis was quite a different way. He collected important events like marriage or any other. So after a thorough evaluation of all available data, he fixed a telephonic meeting to explain his analysis. I have gone to many astrologers and even Naadi but this was something beyond my assumptions. I cannot put the entire conversation which was around an hour. He told me this was my last birth and will end up as light like Vallalar. And intuition and healing will be dominant after 2020 and I will be spreading the knowledge of light. So I was wondering I do a bit of prediction and healing, I do  Past life Regression but not on a large scale. I don't even charge for my service. Even teach Yoga and meditation. But the mentioned prophecy most of them were known to and I am. But the Light phenomenon blew my whistles. After December 2019 I was behind the information on Light technology.

I was reading about the Light body throughout. Dug deep into the available sources of information around me. I was talking to friends but every time being vigilant for Light information, cause you never know when the information may come from a layman or even a kid. Cause devine will roll out your deep desire and quest to know things. Icha Shakthi, Jnan Shakthi & Kriya Shakthi plays a vital role in shifting your paradigm. Most of the Master programs and books have been devised on these three words and later oceans of knowledge have been a wave. And those who surfed are masters.

O.K let's come to the Light.  Now I will elaborate on some stories and the whole knowledge is embeded in the stories and personalities below. Lord Muruga has enlightened me and I also want everyone to be the Light. Love you all for being Light. Thanks, Soulmates love light. You can travel far when you are Light. Gallaxies are not the Limit, be the Light.  The equation was a glimpse.

E=mc^2

Lord Murugan was born from the third eye of Shiva.

As Trinetra Shiva had blessed Tharakasur and his clan Surapadman and Sinhamukhi that only his child will be able to kill them and which was impossible for ascetic like Shiva  to have child, believed the demons and their mortality spaned in their mind until Manmatha was burnt to ashes.

After the death of Sathi, Shiva was in deep meditation. On another side, all Gods were captured and tortured by Surapadman. When Gods (Devas) were all undergoing unforeseen misery, they were told that it was all due to the curse they invited by attending a sacrifice conducted by Daksha, the father of Sathi, an earlier incarnation of Parvati, to which Shiva was not invited. And Sathi had gone to attend without invitation, after alot of opposition from her lord Shiva and had been insulted by her father. By deep humiliation of Daksha Sathi jumped into the Yagagni and ended her life. ( This place of Daksha's Yagashala will be covered in another topic which I have visited and is close to our place Kootiyoor.) (And Daksha was angry with Intergalactic traveler Narada, just because he taught good things to his sons. Narada travels to different galaxies with his thought power. Its all about Gallactic traveling where even one day NASA will focus and explore more from our Vedic knowledge. Maybe they have already started the research. Also other nations are behind Mars Exploration and Murga has the secrets of Mars is the open tip. Hope slowly everything will be rolled out as Light leads and let me be a photon)

All Gods approached Brahma & Vishnu as the atrocities of Demons were increasing and they both suggested the solution which could be ceased by birth of Shiva's son.  And the union of Shiva and Parvathi (incarnation of Sathi) should happen and it was possible only if Shiva comes out of meditation and union happens which is out of scene now.

To build up the ambience Manmatha the love god was given the tedious task of triggering the love sensation in Ascetic, who was continuouly meditating for ages and who had a powerful third eye - trinetra. Unaware of the consequences Manmaha started the execution of his arrows of love which agitated Shiva obstructing his penance. The intensity of the anger resulted in opening his third eye which turned Manmatha into ashes.( Bhandasura was the by-product which will be drilled down in many of future blogs in Lalithasahsranama) . So the script of love was launched and hit the destination but the launcher was not there anymore. ( Manmatha's  (Kamadeva- love god) wife Rathi lost her partner and losing partner is such a void its mother of all voidness. But Rathi is fortunate to have her partner back.   Hope there should be a mechanism for partners to be together always. Wallaha that doesn't happen in the Karmic equation of uncertainity ) Let's come back to the mainstream.

All Gods pacified Shiva and revealed that it was their plan and was executed by poor Manmatha the Kamadeva for a good cause to save Devas from the havoc rolled out by the Tharakasura Club. Shiva gave back Manamatha his life but he will remain invisible. That's why we never see him around us but his magic is there all around us better be a legitimate one or will have the chance to see Dashamahavidya which Sati showed Shiva when she was not allowed to attend Daksha her father's so-called Daksha Yagam. (But still confused how Yoni Tantra was explained by Shiva to Parvathi- Nightmare on mind street)

As mentioned earlier the Manmatha's launch effect executed and Shiva's glance went second to Parvathi but was with different dimension ( as its also now the same when Shiva looks Parvathi its different Shiva Shakthaiykya Ruppine Namaha, Be Shiva when you are with your Parvathi). The six sparks that burnt down Manmata were now carried by Agni to Saravana lake. There the six flames got the form of six very charming children. The children were under the care of six Karthika sisters.

( off the shelf ---- The seven Krttika

In the Hindu mythology, it is said that the stars of the Big Dipper were the seven sages called Saptha  Rishis. They were happily married to seven sisters named Krttika. They originally lived all together in the northern sky. But one day, the god of fire, Agni, emerged from the flames of a sacrificial offering performed by the seven Rishis and immediately fell in love with the seven Krttika.

Trying to forget his love for the Krttika, Agni wandered in the forest where he met Svaha, the star Zeta Tauri. Svaha fell in love with Agni. To conquer Agni's love, Svaha disguised herself as six of the seven Krttika. For six times, Svaha made love to Agni, who believed that he had conquered the attractive wives of the seven Rishis.

Svaha could mimic only six of the Krttika since the seventh sister, Arundhati, was too devoted to her husband to be imitated. After a while, Svaha gave birth to a child that she named Skanda. With his birth, rumors began to spread that six of the Rishis' wives were his mother.

The seven Rishis divorced their wives. Arundhati was the only one that remained with her husband as the star Alcor. The other six Krttika went away to become the Pleiades.)

Star of the David

Once Shiva and Parvati visited the lake. Mother Parvati embraced all the six children together and they became one with six faces namely Eesanam, Tathpurusham, Vamadevam, Agoram, Sathyojatham and Adhomugam. The child came to be called in different names like Shanmukha, Muruga, Subrahmanya, Kanda, Karthikeya and many others.

Shortly after Muruga’s birth, he was given the position of the general of the devas. The devas, or the forces of light, represent our righteous attributes. Muruga as their general signifies that Muruga is our Divine general within who can guide us on how to defeat our evil tendencies represented by the demonic forces.

It took Muruga’s army six days to defeat the demons. Six is symbolic of many things, including our six primary chakras along the spine. The six days of war correspond to battling and mastering the six chakras, the culmination of which is the attainment of purity and therefore a state of perfection, which Muruga represents. This is why Muruga is considered the God of the “perfected ones” or siddhas. Murga defeated the Demons and split them using his lance which is the Vel - Light.

So  Lord Shiva has alternative ways to rectify his boons and took the demons by surprise and he created a divine body with the brightest fire sparks ( Light )   to burn and meltdown Tarakasur. And to transform Sinhamuki and Surapadman into the light and gave them salvation. Surapadman's one part became the peacock and other the Cock. Lord Muruga is pure light. That was the mission of Lord Muruga. After achieving the goals which were set to him, devotees got him married to Valli to allow him to be part of nature so that he can come in and go from the world as on need and gods got him married to Deivayanei so that he can go to and from heaven be part of them. The happy endings.

So whenever the bad points get accumulated in your account there is auto mechanism of redemption by god. You will have to go through the penance directly proportional to your activities to redeem the points accumulated so it depends whether you get the gift or keep on paying the fines. Once you are aware you open your gateway to the heart.  Your heart becomes pure as Light. Are we still there...

Let us peep into those saints or Siddhas who have been around caring for the miseries of people and educating them to know the Light by grace of Muruga or whatever you name Ram or Raheem or Isa. Its all the Light within us which takes you from form  to formless. What ever you path, at last you are Light. I am sure one day we all will be Light. Welcome to the club.

Siddha Ramalinga Adigalar - Vallalar 1823 - 1874

Charity life and total surrender are the real spiritual and religious acts that the Lord is pleased with as proclaimed by the appearance of Saint Chidambaram Ramalinga Pillai, commonly known as Ramalinga Adigal or Vallalar. Born on the 5th October 1823 at Marudur, Thiruvottriyur, Chennai , Tamil Nadu and at the age of 6 months, he could recognise Lord Shiva actively dancing the Bharatanatyam through the Chidambara Rahasiyam(secret which will be described in later blogs) which any visitor can actually see at Perunthurai Chidambaram ( Gateway to Galactic travel).

Ramalinga shunned school education and spent his childhood at a small kovil, KandaKottai, Chennai. He got all his education from Lord Muruga himself. He became a self-effulgent personality, curing sick people .which drew crowds of Murugan devotees to his religious and spiritual discourses,He broadened the minds of people with the Thirukural and Bagavatgitai in a more general way.

But his illumination enabled him to draw more attention to Lord Muruga as the supreme light. He lived a very simple ordinary life.He empathized so much with the poor and the sick, charity and education were his instructions as ceremonies to please Lord Muruga. He gathered tremendous rallies around him and succeeded in creating a Satya Dharma Salai to procure daily food to the poor and sick. This Salai is still functioning to-day. He has written a lot of works to guide his students towards Lord Muruga and his well-known text THIRUVARUTPA is a combination of the Thirumandiram of Siddhar Thirumoolar and the Thiruvasagam of Siddhar Manickavasagar.

His famous mantra

ARULPERUM JYOTHI PERUM THANI PERUM KARUNAY ARULPERUM JYOTHI

(Supreme Divine Graceful Light Supreme Divine Infinite Compassion Supreme Divine Graceful Light)

Lord Muruga is the Supreme Light.

On the 30 Jan 1874 , at the age of 51, Ramalinga Adigalar changed his body into pure light and vanished from the surface of the earth. Closest devotees from abroad can still visualize his physique and they all believe Vallalar is still present as an envoy of Lord Muruga who empowered him to save the world from the cruelties and injustices of wicked people and institutions.

A home on the premises of Sockalingum Meenaatchiamman Kovil, Nicholay Street, Port-Louis, bears the name of Ramalinga Adigalar, The real worship of Lord Muruga is in the service of the poor and in educating the mass to believe and worship God in the form of Light.

The three-fingered straight vibhuthi stripes affixed on the body of Ramalinga Swamigal is the hope to conquer death, that is the cycle of birth, life, and death altogether.

To be Continued with Sri Ramana Maharshi.

Thanks to all the Divine Lights showered on me and happy to be a mirror for now.

Peralassery Subramaniya ( Skanda) Temple & Makreri Temple

I have visited the Peralassery Subramania temple along with Makrery temple quite lot of times. But the story behind the temple rolled out only  couple of years until I got a small booklet printed by Mahtubhumi Book Stall near to the temple. And the story goes on like this.

Once upon a time lord, Murugan asked Brahma the creator the meaning of Aum. Brahma never knew somebody will one day ask him such a question and lock him for his ignorance. At last, that happened as Brahma couldn't answer Skanda's question ended up in his custody thus bringing a halt to the creation or Shristi  which was his department.

Consequently this all Devas gathered in Kailasa to meet Shiva and find a solution so that Shristi continues as before. After an amicable discussion between the son and father, they reached a solution. And based on the instructions from Shiva his son let off Brahma the creator to continue his Shrishti. An apologetic Subramanian hid as a serpent near the well in the Ayyappan Kavu.

The temple traces its origin to the Thretha Yuga. As per the Ramayana, Lord Sree Rama along with Lakshmana and Hanuman, on their way to Lanka in search of Sita (consort of Sree Rama), reached this place and felt the presence of Lord Subramanya. On approval from Lord Ayyappa, Sree Rama decided to consecrate the idol of Lord Subramanya in this place. He sent Hanuman to the north to find a suitable idol to be installed. When he failed to come at the right time for consecration, Sree Rama removed his Peruvala [great bangle – a symbol of kingdom] and consecrated it. Hence the place got its name Peruvalassery, which in course of time got contracted to Peralassery. Later Hanuman tried to remove the bangle in order to consecrate the idol, but could not do so as he was warned by a serpent.

Later Sree Rama asked him to install the vigraham  West of the current prathishta at Makereri. Moreover Sri Rama told everyone that to get his blessings, anyone who prays at Perallasseri needs to pray at Makreri too else the prayers go unanswered.

Hearing this Hanuman became very happy and immediately installed the idol 4km West at Makereri. Since the main thanthri is Hanuman who himself is a punya athma, the prathishta got uncontrollable power. In order to control this power as well as to give daily darshan to parama bhakta hanuman, Sri Rama took His original form of Maha Vishnu sand installed himself on the three sides of the Makreri temple.

Famous for snake worship, hen’s eggs are the main offerings in the temple. The annual Kodiyettam festival is a key attraction here and usually falls in December. The traditional temple art forms like Thayambaka, Irattathayambaka, Chakyarkoothu, Pattakam Ottan Thullal, and Kathakali are performed in the temple during festival seasons.

The temple pond is a source of wonder for all devotees, and taking a dip is considered sacred. This rectangular pond has an impressive architecture with countless steps leading into the pool from all the four sides. The local belief is that on the day of Thulam Sankramam, water from the Cauvery will reach the well of temple pond. Again this has connection with my Guru Agasthya. This temple, renowned for its architectural splendour and legends.

This  ancient temple which has its own charm and connected to Makreiri temple where Hanuman himself is the tantri ( poojari). I have felt strong vibrations of dieties here and its there will to include this in my blog which I am completing on Skanda Shashti day. Aum Sharvana Bhavaya Namaha.

Skanda - The Light Warrior

Skanda as I know.

I got a small picture of Subramaniyan when I was quite small maybe in 1st std when I had come for vacation in Kerala and it was Navarathri. Even though my grandparents being an ardent communist, kids took the initiative to keep books for pooja. My brother being chief poojari and sister assisted him. ( Now sometimes I am their mentor). In those days I was seeing God pictures only from these plays and which was purchased for only for this Pooja day. Later either they vanished or some external forces made them vanish, I am not quite sure. But one photo I got during those days was Lord Muruga. It had a grace of its own and was childlike to sync with time.

I have met many masters some of them talk with Skanda, some of them get directions from him and this blog is not enough to describe their activities. And which is very hard to conceive using a primitive mind. As my Guru Agasthya, I am also being with my family and exploring this beautiful life and unboxing those material and non-material expressions which lay hidden. The rapid change of Global living and adaptive measures are in the picture. People are finding difficulty with withdrawal syndrome and I find the Vedic knowledge to spearhead. And Skanda is the Light of Knowledge. Your religion is your faith. And your faith is your god. And light is within you don't keep searching out. Observe your breath you will see the Light. Learn the breathing where you become the light.

The Krithikas or the Pleiades

The Pleiades, or the seven chaste women, are the wives of the seven divine sages. Six of them were raised to the sky and became the six Krithikas or the six stars of the Pleiades. The seventh one was also chaste as well as pious and devoted to her husband. She was separately raised to the sky and became the Arundhati. It’s these six Krithikas who nurtured the six-headed baby born of Shiva in the Saravana – Sara = Reed, Vana = Forest (Forest of Reeds). The six heads of Kartikeya represent His six attributes. They are: Jnana (wisdom), Vairagya (detachment), Bala (strength), Keerti (fame), Shree (wealth) and Aishwarya (Divine powers).

Muruga is the God of Pleiades. The Pleiades have long-standing contact with planet earth. They are fond of human beings and the earth plane. They are interested in helping the earth to get more light. Their goal for human beings is to change the genetic structure of the human bodily cells so that humans can eventually acquire a light body. Muruga is a celestial warrior being originating from the constellation Pleiades ( and ruler of the Red Planet, Mars) Muruga’s extraordinary characteristics stem from tapping into his entire brain. We know that he is extremely strong and courageous. He can help humans by boosting their courage and stamina and transmitting cosmic knowledge of reality. Muruga teaches us the meaning of a short, but immensely powerful sound of creation, which encompasses the whole universe. This sound is nothing other than ‘Om’, a vibrational sound that is sacred in many spiritual traditions. He is said to have taught the secrets of this sound to Shiva, the omnipotent celestial being of the Vedas—four sacred texts of India.

His other power sounds are: Sha Ra Va Na Ba Va.

Shatkona

Siddha Bhoganathar is credited with inscribing a mystical yantric geometric design etched into a metalic plate and its installation at the sanctum sanctorum of the Kataragama Devalaya - Srilanka.

The Shatkona is a symbol for Shiva and Shakti. It is made from two triangles (trikona in sanskrit). Shiva is represented by the upward-pointing triangle (△) and Shakti by the downward-pointing triangle (▽). Shiva represents the masculine side of God and the parashiva, the all-pervasive mysterious form of Shiva without qualities. Shakti represents the feminine side of God and the parashakti, the power of Shiva. The upward-pointing triangle can also represent purusha (the supreme being), and the downward-pointing one Prakṛti, or the world seen as mother nature. Overlapping they remind us that all these are qualities of one God, neither male nor female but encompassing both (). Star symbol appears in the twelve-petalled Anahata chakra, or heart chakra. The sound produced here is primordial Aum.

Muruga teaches us the meaning of a short, but immensely powerful sound of creation, which encompasses the whole universe. This sound is nothing other than ‘AUM’, a vibrational sound that is sacred in many spiritual traditions. He is the Guru of his father and said to have taught the secrets of this sound to Shiva, the omnipotent celestial being of the Vedas.

Muruga rules the 6th lunar phase, known as Shasti in the Vedic astronomical and astrological system. The energies of the 6th Moon bestow courage and the necessary strength to ban negativity and scarcity. In fact, this energy is helpful to those who suffer from an excessive debt load and need help with their finances. Invoking Muruga can also defeat enemies and grant victory in all endeavors, including disputes and litigation.

Skanda Shasti

The Sanskrit word shat stands for number Six. Shasti, as such, denotes the sixth lunar day of both the waxing and the waning fortnight of the Moon. Of these, the sixth day of the waxing phase is considered auspicious for undertaking special worship and austerities. Hence, Shasti has come to represent the sixth day of Shukla Paksha, the waxing phase of the moon or simply, the sixth waxing moon. The Shasti that falls on the waxing phase of the Moon in the Hindu Lunar month of Ashwin (Oct- Nov) is observed as Skanda Shasti. ( This year from 15th Nov to 20th Nov 2020)

Murugan, also known as Subrahmanya, Karttikeya or Skanda, is the son of Lord Shiva and his consort, goddess Parvati. He is a unique godhead, who remains the rare combination of matchless valor and supreme, divine intelligence. According to legends, it is on Skanda Shasti that Lord Murugan put an end to the demon, Surapadman. Hence, Skanda Shasti is regarded as very special for Murugan worship, when devotees observe vratam (fasting) for propitiating him and receiving his blessings.

According to mythology, Surapadman was a demon, who obtained many boons, became quite powerful and started oppressing even the Gods. As desired by his parents, Lord Shiva and goddess Parvati, Murugan led an army of celestial beings against the demon forces and fought Surapadman, his henchmen and their mighty army.

According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Parvati presented the Vel to her son Murugan as an embodiment of her shakti or power in order to vanquish the evil asura Surapadman. According to the Skanda Purana, in the war between Murugan and Surapadman, Murugan used the Vel to defeat all the evil forces of Soorapadman.

The fierce battle ended on the sixth day, when Lord Murugan decisively defeated Surapadman and his evil forces, relieving the gods and the people, of his repression. This day is observed as Skanda Shasti. The grateful devotees remember the heroic feat of Murugan, sing his glory for the first five days, and on the sixth Skanda Shasti day, they undertake vratam or fasting and offer him special worship to commemorate his resounding victory.

Rituals of Skanda Shasti Vratam (Fasting)

Devotees install a picture or idol of Lord Murugan at home, decorate it with flowers, light a traditional lamp, preferably a ghee lamp and incense, make offerings of fruits and special delicacies like sweet pongal, and offer worship along with the reading and reciting of texts and hymns like Skanda Puranam and Skanda Shasti Kavacham. Some also worship the Vel or the lance, Murugan’s principal weapon and also visit Murugan temples. Devotees begin the fast early in the morning and continue it till next day sunrise. Some observe Vrat on all the six days, from morning to evening. While a few go on complete fasting, some have only liquid diets, and some others, fruits. Refraining from other thoughts and purifying the mind only with spiritual thinking during fasting, is considered as important or even more, than abstaining from food. While the fasting is completed on the sixth Surasamharam day, Thirukkalyanam, the marriage of Lord Murugan with Indra’s daughter Devasena, is celebrated on the next day.
